Ahmed, Bilal – MD

Dr. Bilal Ahmed joined Mid Dakota Clinic in October 1998, having previously been affiliated with Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. He is a board-certified endocrinologist, specializing in diseases related to diabetes and metabolism and is a certified diabetes educator. He has a special interest in nutrition, and is among the very few board-certified nutritionists in the upper Midwest. Dr. Ahmed is also board-certified in the field of internal medicine. He serves on the board of the Mid Dakota Osteoporosis Center and is certified to read bone densitometry studies.

Dr. Ahmed completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Tulane University Medical Center School of Medicine in New Orleans, La. He completed a fellowship in clinical nutrition and metabolism at University of California, Davis. Dr. Ahmed received his medical degree from Dow Medical College and completed a residency from Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency at University of California, Davis.

Dr. Ahmed is licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Dakota. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology, a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the American Diabetes Association and the Musser-Burch Society of Medicine.
