Stop Smoking for Free
St. Alexius’ Freedom From Smoking program is beginning Tuesday, September 6, at St. Alexius Medical Center. These classes are designed to help individuals quit smoking through behavior modification, nicotine replacement, as well as maintenance techniques such as weight management, stress relief and choosing an overall healthy lifestyle.
Developed by the American Lung Association, the Freedom From Smoking program has been designed for people who want help to quit smoking. No single way works for everyone, so this program incorporates many well-known techniques, tools and tips that have been developed over the past several decades.
St. Alexius Medical Center is offering these classes at no cost to the participant. In addition, each participant will receive a $50.00 coupon to be used toward nicotine replacement products. This has been made possible by the Master Tobacco Settlement funds through Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health.
The next 6-week session of Freedom From Smoking classes runs Tuesday, September 6 through Tuesday, October 11. Choose 6 to 7 p.m. or 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. These 6-week sessions will be ongoing until June, but sign up today as classes fill up fast. Classes will be held in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department, 2nd floor of the Medical Arts Plaza.
