Participate in a Study

Participate in a studyIs research for you? Millions of people volunteer for research studies every year. There are many reasons that people volunteer. For some it is a way to access new potential treatments for their particular disease or condition. Others appreciate the close medical attention they receive while taking part in the study. People also get involved to help others through the advancement of medical knowledge.

Cardiology
A study to collect information about how the following products work in the treatment of carotid artery disease: Protégé™ RX Carotid Stent (Protégé Stent) and the SpiderFX™ and SpideRX™ Embolic Protection Devices.  All three of these products are approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration.  Patients who have a stenosis (narrowing) of their carotid artery, that requires treatment, are being invited to take part in this study.

Internal Medicine
A study of an investigational oral (taken by mouth) drug for treatment for type 2 diabetes.

A study of an investigational medication for the treatment of the flu.

Men’s Health Studies
A study to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug in the treatment of BPH (enlarged prostate) in men.

A study to evaluate a new way of potentially treating prostate cancer using a new vaccine that may help cells from your own body to recognize and kill the cancer cells.

Oncology
A research study of an investigational drug for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. The study is trying to determine if the Investigational Drug, combined with gemcitabine, results in a better outcome for patients than treatment with gemcitabine alone. Gemcitabine is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer.

A study to evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational medication in preventing the recurrence of node-positive, early stage breast cancer with low to intermediate HER2 expression.

A study of an investigational medication to determine if it is effective when given to patients with cancer who are also receiving Taxotere, Adriamycin and Cytoxan (TAC) to treat their breast cancer.  Neulasta® will also be used in this study as a comparator to the investigational medication for the treatment of Neutropenia.

Rheumatology
A study to test the ability of etanercept (also called Enbrel®) to bring about control of rheumatoid arthritis in patients with moderately active rheumatoid arthritis who are already taking at least one “disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug” (also called a DMARD; DMARDs are drugs like methotrexate or azathioprine).

Women’s Health Studies
A study of an investigational drug for pregnant women who have previously had a preterm birth (when a baby is born before 37 weeks of pregnancy ) to determine if the investigational drug will safely reduce the rate of early delivery.
