Weight Training
Weight Training has one purpose and that is to increase the force that a muscle can generate with each muscle contraction. A correlation is often drawn that if a muscle is bigger it can generate more force. In its basic form that is a true statement. However, the key to athletic skill is to be able to use that force within the time frame of specific sport activity. See Rate of Force Development.
A simple but yet planned progression would be to develop muscle size, followed by the development of technique and agility, leading to the development of Special Strength. The time frame required to achieve this progression is well over 36 weeks. If you have an interest in this progression or just want to work on a specific phase of this progression we would enjoy working with you.
