Jumping Eagle, Sara – MD

Sara Jumping Eagle, MD joined Mid Dakota Clinic PrimeCare in January 2009. Dr. Jumping Eagle, an Oglala Lakota, is originally from Kyle, South Dakota. Dr. Jumping Eagle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at Stanford University School of Medicine and completed a Pediatric residency and Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at Denver Children’s Hospital.

Prior to joining Mid Dakota Clinic, Dr. Jumping Eagle worked in the Adolescent Clinic and Pediatrics Department at Denver Children’s Hospital and practiced Pediatrics at Denver Indian Health and Family Services. She also conducted research with the University of Colorado.

Dr. Jumping Eagle is board-certified in Pediatrics and board-eligible in Adolescent Medicine. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the AAP Indian Child Health-Special Interest Group, and the Association of American Indian Physicians. Dr. Jumping Eagle serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics.

In addition to her interest in general pediatrics, Dr. Jumping Eagle’s special medical interests include adolescent medicine, reproductive health, pubertal development, behavioral health, and the prevention of high risk behaviors among youth.
