Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that occurs during the winter months. The specific cause of SAD is unknown, however, it is thought that the reduced level of sunlight disrupts your body’s internal clock, or circadian rhythm. This disruption may cause depression.
Most often treatment includes increased sunlight from a light therapy box. Great Plains Rehabilitation Services is your source for light therapy boxes and related information.

Pricing – Lights rent for $50/month or purchase for $300. If a customer wants to rent for 1 or 2 months to make sure that the light will be effective for them, rental payments can be rolled over to a purchase.
Insurance coverage – We prefer that customers call us or come down to Great Plains Rehabilitation Services at 12th & Main, Bismarck, to speak to a customer service representative. Each customer’s insurance and needs are different and may require different situations. GPRS has representatives available Mon-Fri from 8 am – 6 pm who can handle questions.
Prescription – GPRS will work in conjunction with a customer’s treating physician to provide excellent education. As the SAD lights are a medical device, a referral or prescription from a physician is required.
