Summer Fun & Safety Day Draws Over 1,500 Students

Over 1,500 first and third graders from area schools will fill Sertoma Park on Thursday, May 18th for Summer Fun & Safety Day sponsored by St. Alexius Medical Center and Mid Dakota Clinic. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an hour lunch break from 11:15 a.m. to12:15 p.m..
Thirty-three community organizations and St. Alexius and Mid Dakota Clinic departments will sponsor booths to educate students on safety topics during the fun-filled day! A few of the topics to be covered this year are smoking, asthma education, insect stings, bike safety, 911 education, water safety, and pet safety, along with many more. Students will get to check out a ND Highway Patrol car, along with an ambulance from Metro Area Ambulance. Alex the Cat will spend the day with the students as well.
Area schools have already registered for the event. Only those classes currently registered will participate in the event.
