Ilene Brackin joined St. Alexius Heart & Lung Clinic in April 2002. She works primarily with cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients.

Ilene completed her Bachelor of Science in biology and medical technology at University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D. She then completed her Bachelor of Physician Assistant Studies at Rocky Mountain College, Billings, Mont.

Prior to joining the Heart & Lung Clinic, Ilene worked as a locum tenems physician assistant in Hettinger, Dickinson and Richardton in the emergency department and family practice clinics. She also worked in neurosurgery at MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, N.D.

She is a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants and Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular Surgery. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
