St. Alexius Medical Center Celebrates American Heart Month

St. Alexius Medical Center, the #1 Heart Hospital in North Dakota for Cardiac Services according to HealthGrades®, the leading independent healthcare ratings company, is a corporate sponsor of the American Heart Association’s GO RED Campaign. The GO RED campaign is a movement that is designed to call women, their spouses and families, to action on living a heart healthy lifestyle. Heart disease is the No.1 killer of men and women in the U.S. and in North Dakota, but is preventable. The American Heart Association’s GO RED campaign draws attention to the importance of women to take steps to prevent heart disease and to reduce the incidence of illness and death due to heart disease.

Along with the GO RED day on February 2, February is designated American Heart Month. Throughout the month, St. Alexius will be bringing awareness of heart health to the community. One opportunity to learn about heart health and healthy living will be on Tuesday, February 13. Everyone is invited to attend the Primecare Health Information Session from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Boniface Auditorium at St. Alexius Medical Center. The cost is $5. For more information please call 530-7700 or 800-843-9628.

To draw attention to this important effort, St. Alexius is inviting staff to wear red on Friday, February 2, 2007, GO RED day.
