Kidney Dialysis Unit Celebrates 30 Years – Story as seen on the Under the Arch segment on KXMB CBS12

In 1989, a rare kidney disease began to shut down Rachelle Backhaus’ kidneys. But it didn’t shut down her life. Rachelle is living a full life thanks to the St. Alexius Kidney Dialysis Unit.

Rachelle Backhaus: “I’ve dialyzed from Minneapolis to Seattle, and St. Alexius is hands-down the best unit. Thanks to them I can be here for my husband and four sons.”

Since 1973, St. Alexius’ KDU and it’s team of professionals has remained on the cutting edge.

Dr. Earl Dunnigan states, “The changes I’ve seen in the years I’ve been here have ultmately meant a better comfort level for our dialysis patients all over Western North Dakota.”

The future looks brighter for patients like Rachelle thanks to 30 years of excellence at the St. Alexius Kidney Dialysis Unit. For more information about the Kidney Dialysis Unit and their services, call 530-8350.
