New Providers Join Center for Integrated Medicine St. Alexius is pleased to welcome the first hospital-based

chiropractor in western North Dakota and two wellness

practitioners to the Center for Integrated Medicine at Gateway Mall. Lori Gietzen, licensed chiropractor, and Rhonda Jolliffe and Cheryle Bitz, nurse practitioners, have joined Bob Gietzen, certified acupuncturist, and Kim Celley, licensed and certified massage therapist. The health care providers use a team approach to promote wellness. Services available there include massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic services, and wellness consultations provided by nurse practitioners.

Lori Gietzen, D.C., licensed chiropractor, is the only

hospital-based chiropractor in western North Dakota. She works in conjunction with primary care providers and refers to appropriate specialists as needed. Her philosophy is to help patients achieve their highest level of functioning, using the least number of treatments. She believes in hands-on treatment, using finesse rather than force. Rhonda Jolliffe and Cheryle Bitz, certified nurse practitioners, assess, evaluate and treat patients embracing a variety of safe, effective options in diagnosis and treatment. Their assessment includes education for lifestyle changes and self-care, complementary approaches, and conventional drugs and medical treatments. They typically spend an hour-and-a-half with a new patient to provide a complete physical, mental, emotional and spiritual assessment. They will collaborate with a patient’s primary care provider and refer to appropriate specialists as

necessary.

Another focus of their practice is to evaluate products currently taken or considered by patients. They will work in collaboration with Great Plains Health Company in a consultative role. Taking into consideration the client’s present health status, risk factors, and lifestyle, they recommend products that are safe and not contraindicated with the medications currently being taken.
