Bhavani Prasad Mekala, MD
Dr. Mekala joined Mid Dakota Clinic PrimeCare in October, 2008. Prior to his affiliation with the Clinic, he was in private practice for 26 years in the state of New Jersey. Dr. Mekala received his medical degree from the Guntur Medical College in Guntur, A.P., India. He completed a Compulsory Rotating Internship at the Government General Hospital in Guntur, A.P., India, followed by a Rotating Internship at the Detroit Mccomb Hospital Association in Detroit, MI. He also completed a Residency in Internal Medicine, a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology all at the Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, NJ. Dr. Mekala served as the President of Medical Staff and was a member of the Board of Directors at Bayonne Medical Center, Greenville Hospital and Christ Hospital in New Jersey. Most recently, he was the Director of Gastroenterology and Assistant Director of Medicine at the Bayonne Medical Center. He has participated in various committees either as chairman or member, including committees on bylaws, credentials, quality improvement, strategic planning and hospital board of trustees. Dr. Mekala is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine in the states of North Dakota, New Jersey, New York and Michigan.
