Posted on 6/10/2003
“With Dr. Gietzen’s guidance, not only have I lost weight, but I no longer need prescription drugs for my diabetes and my blood pressure has dropped 50 points. I have a better quality of life.” -Becky Heinert, Acupuncture patient.
Becky Heinert, an acupuncture patient at the Center For Integrated Medicine, has lost approximately 100 pounds since she began working with Dr. Bob Gietzen, DC, DABCO, LaC, acupuncturist at Center For Integrated Medicine. Dr. Gietzen has helped Heinert with her weight loss by placing tiny needles inside her ear lobes to curb her appetite, and also by guiding her through major lifestyle changes to improve her quality of life.
Heinert, now healthier than ever, no longer depends on prescription drugs. She has been able to quit medication for Type II diabetes, as well as thyroid and asthma medications. Since she began regular acupuncture sessions with Dr. Gietzen, Heinert’s high blood pressure has dropped 50 points, decreasing the use of high blood pressure medication by half.
The Center For Integrated Medicine began offering acupuncture in April, 2001, as an alternative to traditional medicine. It continues to gain popularity, especially among fibromyalgia, arthritic and obese patients. For more information on acupuncture, call the Center For Integrated Medicine at 530-4190.
