It’s been an exciting year for St. Alexius Medical Center, which is celebrating 125 years of patient care to the people of North Dakota.
Bishop Paul Zipfel visited today to bless the emergency department and the hospital’s three floors. The bishop gives his blessing to the hospital annually, but Sister Susan Lardy said this year is special.
“This is very special this year, because it is the 125th and in his comments he talked about what it meant for those sisters 125 years ago to come out here and start a hospital,” said Lardy. “They’d never done it before and it’s wonderful to have him here to rejoice with us in this celebration.”
Since its founding, the annual patient count at St. Alexius Medical Center has grown from 63 to more than 10,000.
