New Administrative Building Planned for St. Alexius

St. Alexius Medical Center has broken ground on a new administrative office building located near Great Plains Rehabilitation Services on East Main Avenue in Bismarck. The four-story building will house several of St. Alexius’ non-clinical departments including fiscal services, information services, clinical research services, education center and foundation.
According to Andrew Wilson, President/CEO at St. Alexius, patient demand for the medical services St. Alexius provides is the main reason for the project. “Over the past few years we have experienced significant growth. For the convenience of our patients, visitors, and physicians we are relocating some of our non-patient care services off-site. This will preserve our medical campus while affording us room for expansion.”
Frank Kilzer, vice president of materials and facilities resources, said the 100,000 square foot office building is designed to be energy efficient. “As part of the Medical Center’s ‘Go Green’ efforts, the building will feature a state-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling system in which the excess heat from our computers will warm our building.” Completion is scheduled for late 2011.
